Turtle Centre and Kittiwake shipwreck & artificial reef
Visit the Cayman Turtle Centre that provides its guests with a chance to come face to face with the green sea turtles found here. Visitors can enjoy various activities with turtles ranging from picking up yearling turtles while they are swimming and playing to taking a peek at the baby turtles hatching out of their eggs. Once you’re done with the Turtle Centre, head to the Kittiwake shipwreck & artificial reef nearby. The artificial reef is made by sinking Kittiwake, an ex-USA Navy submarine rescue vessel that was brought to the Cayman Islands. Visitors are allowed to snorkel or dive to explore it and admire the ship’s five decks, overflowing with a rainbow of rare sponges, goliath groupers, squirrelfish and urchins. (Overnight in George Town)
Stingray city and National Gallery
Visit Stingray City where you can mingle with marine life by wading among friendly majestic southern Atlantic stingrays and even feed them. Leave Stingray City for Coral Gardens, where you can snorkel gear and explore hundreds of fish species and coral formations. Coral Garden is the perfect location to feed various species of fish and capture images of sea creature, coral reefs and colourful marine life. Proceed to the Starfish to have a close encounter with starfish, as they do move from one place to another. Visit the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands in the evening, which preserves, collects, exhibits, and fosters an understanding of Caymanian art. (Overnight in George Town)
