Arrival in Yerevan - Yerevan City tour
You will be greeted by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel in your private cab. Then you will be visiting The Yerevan city which is marked by grand Soviet-era architecture. The Matenadaran library, housing thousands of Ancient Greek and Armenian manuscripts, dominates its main avenue. We will then head towards Tsitsernakaberd, a Monument to the Armenian Genocide Victims as well as Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan. It is fully loaded with people, both locals and tourists from all over the world, enjoying the magic and the warmth of the capital.
Geghard Monastery - UNESCO Heritage Site, The Pagan Temple of Garni
The Geghard Monastery complex will be visited on the 2nd day of the tour it is a UNESCO Heritage site completed within the 13thcentury. It comprises numerous churches and tombs, most of which were carved into the rock and thus once earned the monastery the name, Ayrivank, meaning Monastery within the Cave. You will be taken to The Temple of Garni (or Garni Temple) which is a pagan temple built to worship the sun goddess Mythra. Till date, it's the one and only standing Greco-Roman colonnaded structure altogether of Georgia. You may take your time to workship the goddess.
The picture-perfect Lake Sevan is a sight to behold! You may enjoy its views once we come to the Sevanavank Monastic complex, which overlooks the vast blue expanse of the lake.Lake Sevan holds the title of “the largest body of water in Armenia and therefore the entire Caucasus region.” it's also one among the most important freshwater high-altitude lakes in Eurasia and worldwide.you will also visit the Sevanavank Monastery (9th century), which stands in its greatness on the peninsula, overlooking the lake for centuries.
You will be stunned to visit the Khor Virap. Though its presence is way more sacred lately, Khor Virap actually began life as a castle and royal dungeon right near the traditional Armenian capital of Artashat around 180 BC. Writhing with snakes, notorious for torture, and stinking of decaying flesh, Khor Virap wasn't the type of prison people returned from. Then you will be visiting the Khor Virap Church, which is one of the holy places for the Christians. After visiting Khor Virap you will be experiencing the beautiful steep rocks that change the colour from grey to red.
On this day you will be taken to Dilijan which is a town in northern Armenia. It's known for spa resorts and traditional craft workshops so you may get one traditional art piece for your home also! The town is surrounded by the forests of Dilijan park. The Geological Museum may catch the eyes of the museum lovers which displays archaeological finds and international art. After visiting the museum, Haghartsin Monastery may be visited. You will then visit the mountainous resort Dilijan, or so called “Armenian Switzerland”.
On this day you will be visiting the Lori province within the Northern a part of Armenia which is the the largest region of the country. With its tall mountains and plush forests, it’s also the greenest, you may stroll around and capture its beauty. Home to famous monasteries, like Haghpat and Sanahin, Lori may be a must visit for each traveller exploring the Caucasus.
