Day 1:
Addis Ababa
You will be greeted by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel in your private cab. Addis Ababa is Ethiopia’s sprawling capital and the country’s commercial and cultural hub. Visit the National Museum which exhibits Ethiopian art, traditional crafts and prehistoric fossils, including replicas of the famous early hominid, "Lucy." The burial place of the 20th-century emperor Haile Selassie, copper-domed Trinity Cathedral, is a neo-baroque architectural landmark. Optionally you can also transfer directly to Bahir Dar after you arrive in Addis Ababa. (Overnight in Addis Ababa or Bahir Dar)
Day 2:
Bahir Dar
On this day of the trip visit Bahir Dar, the former capital of West Gojjam province and therefore the current capital of the Amhara Regional State in Ethiopia.Bahir Dar is one among the leading tourist destinations in Ethiopia. Enjoy a boat ride on the Lake Tana to visit variety of mesmerizing monasteries hidden on the islands and shores of this sacred lake. Visit the ZegePeninsula and the monasteries of Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane Mehret. Also visit the Blue Nile Falls for ahike in the area. Take a stroll in the area and capture its beauty in your eyes! Day 3:
Gondar
On this day you will experience the wonderful insight into the Amhara culture in Gondar. Explore the sites of Gondar, including a visit to the Royal Enclosure, with six castles.VisitFasilidas’s Pool which is still used for Timket celebrations today. After visiting Fasilidas’s Pool visit Ras Gimb Palace Museum and the Debre Birhan Selassie church having the most famous ceiling in Ethiopia. (Overnight in Gondar)
Day 4:
Axum
On this day you will visit Axum, a city in northern Ethiopia. It is known for its tall, carved obelisks, relics of the traditional Kingdom of Axum. Visit the popular obelisks (recently erected after being returned from Italy) and the archaeological museum. You may take a stroll around and enjoy your visit. Also visit the Queen of Sheba’s Bath, the Queen of Sheba’s Palace,Ezana’senscription, King Kaleb’s tomb and the King Bazen’s tomb. You may also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. (Overnight in Axum)
Day 5:
Lalibela
On this day of your trip visit the Northwestern Cluster of churches (BetMedhaneAlem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha). Here entry is not permitted for women. You may also visit the church of YimrehaneKristos nearby Lalibela town. Created in the late-Axumite style, this church is set in the entrance to a cave with a skeleton graveyard in the back of devout pilgrims who visited this church. (Overnight in Lalibela)
Day 6:
Harar City
Visit the Harar city in eastern Ethiopia. It is surrounded by a centuries-old defensive wall that has several large gates, including Duke's Gate. The town is appreciated for its mazelike alleys and traditional houses decorated inside with flat hanging baskets. A reproduction house features at the Harar Community Centre Museum. Also visit the Grand Jami Mosque with its tall white minarets. (Overnight in Lalibela)
Day 7:
Departure
Today you will be transferred to Addis Ababa for your flight back home.
