Eastern Europe is a region of the continent of Europe. In total, the Eastern European area of the world accounts for seven countries and three republics.
All three Scandinavian countries are Nordic, but not all Nordic countries are Scandinavian. Iceland and Finland are Nordic, while Norway, Sweden and Denmark are both Nordic and Scandinavian.
Western Europe is the region comprising the western part of Europe. Though the term Western Europe is commonly used, there is no consensus on which countries comprise it.
